Green Thumb
Green Thumb, a national nonprofit corporation best known
as our country's
leader in the field of older worker employment and training,
has found the lack
of computer skills to be a significant barrier to employment
for older
Americans, many of whom missed out on the computer revolution.
For more than three decades, Green Thumb has preached
the gospel that a
person is never too old to work, learn, or start a new
career. Green Thumb
and Microsoft Skills 2000 have partnered to bring this
philosophy to life for
hundreds of older Americans seeking to enter the information
technology (IT)
field. The two companies have forged an innovative alliance
to address the
growing IT skills shortage by training limited-income
individuals age 55 and
older as Desktop Support Specialists, Technical Support
Specialists, Help
Desk Specialists, and Network Administrators.
