The following section describes the social profile of
Marine. The 1990 U.S. Census provided the most current
data available, except in the case of housing
information, which includes data from building permit
records since 1990.
POPULATION TRENDS
The Metropolitan Council’s Regional Growth
Strategy identifies Marine as a rural growth center. The
following population and household forecasts, as
projected by the Metropolitan Council (in 1997), are
acceptable to the City.
